The HRC Gala Dinner is returning to the Queen City!
And the timing couldn't be better.
After two years in Raleigh, the HRC North Carolina Gala is returning to Charlotte, and we hope your LGBT group, it’s staff and supporters, will be involved. This great event is the single largest annual fundraiser for an organization that works strategically at the national and local levels to advance equality for all LGBT Americans. Your group welcomes all people and respects the rights of our nations’ citizens. We would be honored to have you at the upcoming HRC North Carolina Gala.
This groundbreaking dinner will be held on February 25, 2012 in Charlotte's newest and grandest space, The Crown Room - operated by the Charlotte Convention Center and housed in the NASCAR Hall of Fame building. Special speakers, entertainment and weekend long activities are all being planned for our guests.
The Gala Dinner in the Carolinas is typically one of the largest and most successful dinners in the country. The NC Gala Committee has already worked for months to ensure this year is no exception. We have a very ambitious attendance goal: we want to see 2012 attendees in 2012! Mayor Anthony Foxx has already promised to be on hand welcoming all guests to this great event – a marked exception from the years when the former Charlotte mayor wouldn’t even put a welcome letter in the program.
We hope you’ll have robust discussions with your organization and members to see how you may get involved. We’d love for you to host as many tables as you can. Please go to the HRC Carolina website to view all the dinner information, sign up your group as a Table Captain and begin inviting your guests.
The eyes of the nation will be on Charlotte in 2012 as the DNC sets up shop for a history-making convention next September. It's never been more important, then, for our community to rally around a great event, sending an unmistakable message that the LGBT community is strong in voice and number.
Members of the Dinner Committee are eager to speak with your organization, so don’t hesitate to contact us if you have questions or ideas to share. Contact us at the information below or at tablecaptains@hrccarolina.org
Visit our website directly for more information and find out about program ad and silent auction opportunities. We look forward to seeing you in February.
