LGBTQ and Allied Actors Shine Through Golden Globe Nominations

The nominees for the 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards were announced this morning, featuring several openly LGBTQ actors, allies and artists.

Nominees include openly LGBTQ actress Evan Rachel Wood and Sarah Paulson. Longtime HRC supporters Bryan Cranston, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kerry Washington were also nominated.

Mandy Moore, who recently revealed that her mother and two brothers are LGBTQ, was nominated for the hit TV show This Is Us.

Transparent received two nominations, including Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy. Jeffrey Tambor was nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy.

Moonlight, which tells the story of a black gay man, received six nominations, including Best Motion Picture- Drama. Ryan Murphy’s The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story received five nominations.

HRC congratulates all of the nominees. The Golden Globes will air on Sunday, January 8, on NBC.
