HRC Releases New National Ad: “Clinton: Clear Choice for LGBTQ Equality”

Today, HRC released a new national digital ad: “Clinton: Clear Choice for LGBTQ Equality.” The ad is aimed at mobilizing the LGBTQ vote in support of Hillary Clinton and pro-equality candidates up and down the ballot nationwide.

Clinton: Clear Choice for LGBTQ Equality” details what is at stake for LGBTQ equality this election, and the threat Donald Trump poses to historic progress made by the community during the Obama administration. It lays out Hillary Clinton’s commitment to fighting for LGBTQ equality as president: “Hillary Clinton has put LGBTQ equality at the center of her campaign. She has promised to support marriage equality and work to end the hate, discrimination, and violence we face every day. Donald Trump’s campaign is built on fear, hate, and division. If he wins, he threatens to undo all the progress we’ve made the past 8 years.”

“Despite the historic progress the LGBTQ community has made over the last eight years, it can all be undone by a Donald Trump presidency,” said HRC President Chad Griffin. “Our work is far from over, and we need leaders in the White House and Congress who will stand up for equality. As President Obama says, ‘Don’t boo, vote’ — for Hillary Clinton and pro-equality candidates up and down the ballot.”

The new ad is part of HRC’s digital campaign focused on mobilizing the 10 million LGBTQ voters nationwide, which is more than double President Obama’s margin of victory over Mitt Romney in 2012. Ensuring these voters get to the polls can help determine the outcome in critical swing states, including Florida, North Carolina, and Ohio.
